English as a Second Language (ESL)

The English as a Second Language Program is designed for non-native English speakers who want to improve their language and culture skills. It is intended for working professionals and students preparing for college study, vocational training, or entry into the workforce. An integrated skills approach with listening/speaking, reading/vocabulary development, and grammar/writing components is adopted. Students enroll in either English as a Second Language for Academic Purposes [CREDIT] or English as a Second Language for Communication and Work [CE].

The program is nationally accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation [CEA] and the American Association of Intensive English Programs [AAIEP]. The Credit track focuses on academically bound students.

It emphasizes preparation for college study while at the same time teaching students about American culture and English for everyday living and communication.
